Terms of use

Docs Aloud is a free reading aid. It's meant to help people who find reading difficult, slow or tiring to get through text faster by listening while they follow along. By using docsaloud.com you agree to these terms.

Provided as is

Docs Aloud is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, availability or non-infringement. Text extraction and speech can contain mistakes, skip text, or read things in the wrong order. Don't rely on Docs Aloud where a mistake could cause harm, for example for medical, legal, financial or safety-critical information. Check the original document.

No data kept

We don't store your files or the pages you read. Everything you add is cleared within 2 hours. Because nothing is kept, we can't recover anything for you later. See the privacy page for details.

Your content

Only open documents and web pages you're allowed to access and use. You're responsible for the content you choose to have read aloud. Don't use Docs Aloud to break the law, to get around paywalls or access controls, or to overload or attack other websites.

Voices

Docs Aloud doesn't supply its own voices. It uses the speech voices already provided by your device and browser, under their own licences and terms.

Donations

Donations are voluntary gifts to support running Docs Aloud. They don't buy any extra features, priority or guarantees, and are processed by PayPal.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Docs Aloud and its operators aren't liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the service. Where liability can't be excluded, it's limited to the amount you paid to use Docs Aloud, which is zero.

Changes and availability

We may change, pause or stop the service, or update these terms, at any time. Updated terms apply from the date shown above.
